Cape Coral is located in Southwest Florida on the Gulf of Mexico and is part of Lee County. Neighboring towns include Fort Myers, Naples, and further away Sarasota and Marco Island. The nearest airport is Fort Myers International (RSW) about 35 minutes away. Larger cities such as Tampa, St. Peterburg or even Orlando and even Miami can be reached within 2.5 hours.

Cape Coral has a huge network of water channels with a total length of more than 400 miles. It is therefore also called the Venice of America. There are several channel systems, freshwater and saltwater, so not all canals have access to the Gulf of Mexico. Cape Coral is best suited for vacationers you are looking for peace, relaxation, sun, beaches, boating and good time at an own pool.

A little bit about the history of Cape Coral. The founding idea of Cape Coral was raised in the late 1950s when the brothers Leonard and Jack Rosen bought the entire pristine land beyond the Caloosahatchee River in 1957. They started massivly with excavating canals, building infrastructure and marketing the cultivated land as construction sites. Today, Cape Coral, with approximately 180,000 inhabitants, is one of the largest cities in Southwest Florida and one of the safest cities in the United States. Cape Coral and Fort Myers have an excellent medical infrastructure with multiple clinics, general practitioners and walk-in clinics for outpatient care.

Our Villa Eyleen is located in the middle of a quiet residential area, just a block away from Surfside Blvd. Here you are at the outer southwest corner of Cape Coral you can't go further west, only the mangroves and sea are behind the next street, which explains the quiet location. It takes 5 minutes by car to get to the Veterans Memorial Parkway, which will take you in 10 minutes through Cape Coral to the Midpoint Bridge, that carries you to the mainland.

Within 10-15 minutes you can reach from our house very convienent shopping centers, discounters, Cape Habour and the marina, as well as many restaurants. The Surfside Shopping Mall can also be easily reached by bike within 15-20 minutes. Here you will find a gym, hairdresser, cafe's, ice cream parlors, restaurants and other shops. Many destinations, beaches and attractions can be reached within 30 to 60 minutes by car.

Conclusion: You live quietly and safely and are fast but by car in 40min to 1h on beaches such as Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel, Captiva, Pine Island.
